THANKSGIVING DAY CLOSURES

November 24, 2022 6:30 a.m.

This is Thanksgiving Day and that means there are a number of closures.

Federal, state, county and city offices are not open. No regular mail will be delivered. Schools are not in session until Monday. Banks and credit unions are closed. Professional offices are not open. Many retail outlets will be closed or have reduced hours though some will be open as normal.

While Thanksgiving is celebrated on different dates in some other nations, in 1789 President George Washington issued the first Thanksgiving proclamation by the national government of the United States.
