ROSEBURG POLICE CITED THREE, AND JAIL ONE FOR DUII INCIDENTS OVER THE WEEKEND

Roseburg Police cited three people and jailed one for DUII incidents between early Saturday and early Sunday.

An RPD report said officers contacted a 25-year-old Sutherlin woman after observing several traffic violations just after 12:40 a.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of Northeast Stephens Street. During the contact with the woman the officer observed several signs of impairment. She agreed to perform standard field sobriety tests and allegedly performed poorly. She was taken to the Douglas County Jail where she was cited and released for driving under the influence of an intoxicant. Her vehicle was parked where she was detained.

Just after 2:00 a.m. officers contacted a 30-year-old man in the 400 block of Northeast Stephens Street during a traffic stop. Officers realized that he was intoxicated and asked him to perform standard field sobriety tests. He agreed, and reportedly performed poorly. The man was taken into custody and transported to corrections where he was cited and released for driving under the influence of intoxicants. His vehicle was towed.

Saturday night just before 10:30 p.m. officers contacted a 30-year-old man near the corner of West Harvard Avenue and West Madrone Street. Officers noticed signs of impairment. The driver agreed to perform standard field sobriety tests and allegedly performed poorly. He was taken to corrections where he was cited and released for DUII. His vehicle was picked up by a sober driver.

Sunday just after 3:15 a.m. officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1000 block of Northeast Stephens Street after the driver had allegedly been speeding. They contacted a 41-year-old Sutherlin man and observed numerous signs of impairment. Due to the level of impairment, the man could not perform SFST’s and was taken into custody. He was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants. Bail was set at $10,000.

Three people were cited for drinking in public in the downtown area on Friday.
