On Sunday, fire lines held against higher temperatures and changing winds in the region.

A release from Northwest Incident Management Team 6 said the Windigo Fire is now 25 percent contained. A Red Flag Warning in effect through Tuesday evening, will test fire lines again.

Sunday, crews on the Windigo Fire were able to lay hoses around the entire western half and more than sixty percent of the eastern side. Mop-up continues around the entire perimeter. Fire fighters on the Potter Fire continue to develop and strengthen primary, alternate and contingency lines. If favorable conditions are present later in the week, crews will be able to use more direct strategies.

The Big Swamp Fire is now being measured at 102 acres after an overnight infrared flight. On Sunday, crews fought spot fires while dozers improved lines.

The Shelter Fire, Fire 210 and Fire 212 are all contained. Crews will continue to patrol these incidents.

Resources on the fires include 674 personnel comprised of 16 hand crews, 33 engines, heavy equipment, eight Type 1 helicopters and one Type 3 helicopter. Two fixed-wing scoopers are available out of Eugene.

High temperatures will reach between 84 and 89 degrees. Winds will flow from the west with speeds between 5-8 miles per hour and gusts up to 15 miles per hour on ridge tops and valleys. Fire spotting distances may reach up to between a quarter and a half mile. There is an 80-85 percent change of ignition on the dry fuels.

The Windigo Fire is listed at 1,053 acres while the Potter Fire is 234 acres.
