7 MORE DEATHS, 421 NEW POSITIVE TEST RESULTS, 5 NEW PRESUMPTIVE

7 more people have died related to COVID-19 in Douglas County, 421 more people have received new positive test results, and 5 more are presumptive, as of Monday.

The Douglas County COVID-19 Update covered information reported between Saturday and Monday.

County Public Health Officer Dr. Bob Dannenhoffer said the new deaths include:

*A 56-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 25th and passed away the same day. She was not vaccinated.

*An 85-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 24th and passed away on Wednesday. She was not vaccinated.

*A 97-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 11th and passed away on August 22nd. She was not vaccinated.

*A 57-year old woman who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 9th and passed away on Thursday. She was not vaccinated.

*A 65-year old man who was diagnosed with COVID-19 on August 20th and passed away on Thursday. He was not vaccinated.

*A 52-year old woman who passed away on Wednesday and tested positive for COVID-19 post mortem on Sunday. She was not vaccinated.

*A 74-year old woman who tested positive for COVID-19 on August 16th and passed away on August 19th. She was not fully vaccinated.

The update said the total number of cases is now at 8,643. Of those, 8,359 are people that have received positive test results and 284 are presumptive. 97 Douglas County COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 74 locally and 23 outside the area, including 2 that have been transferred out of state. 15 ventilators are in use and 18 CPAP machines are in use. 13 COVID positive patients are in the Intensive Care Unit. 88 out of the 97 are not vaccinated.
