Roseburg Police cited a man for a criminal count of prohibited camping early Wednesday morning.

An RPD report said just after 12:20 a.m. officers contacted the 64-year-old in a campsite in the 500 block of Northeast Stephens Street. The camp was in a prohibited area. The man also had a large camp that was outside the restrictions for the manner portion of the city’s ordinance. He was allegedly in possession of several prohibited weapons including a machete, and axe and other tools. The man had three prior convictions for prohibited camping. He was released after the citations were issued.
