Roseburg Police jailed a man for a warrant during overnight contact early Monday morning.

An RPD report said at 3:20 a.m. officers contacted the 36-year-old while he was sleeping in his tent inside Deer Creek Park in the 200 block of Southeast Pine Street. The man’s campsite was in violation of the city’s camping ordinance, and the campsite had trash covering the area surrounding it. Officers were made aware that the man had a warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody and transported to corrections. He was charged with the warrant, a criminal count of prohibited camping and for offensive littering. Bail was set at $5,000.
