Fire crews dealt with a grass fire in the Lookingglass area on Tuesday afternoon.
Information from the Douglas Forest Protective Association said the agency along with Lookinglass Rural Fire District, Tenmile Rural Fire District and Central Douglas Fire & Rescue responded to the fire shortly before 5:00 p.m. near the 1300 block of Dairy Loop Road.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a moderately spreading grass fire which involved hay bales and a piece of farm equipment. Crews quickly knocked down the fire’s forward spread, holding it to a final GPS-mapped size of 2.2 acres. Firefighters remained on the scene into the evening working to extinguish heat from the burning hay bales and equipment.
No evacuations were needed due to the fire.
