Sutherlin Police charged a man for a reported strangulation incident early Saturday.

An SPD report said just before 1:00 a.m. 43-year-old Thomas Ory was contacted at his home on Terrace Lane after residents of the neighborhood said a disturbance was happening. An investigation showed that Ory assaulted a victim in the home. He was charged with a felony count of strangulation, fourth-degree assault, and second-degree disorderly conduct. Ory was detained without bail.
