Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a transient for unlawful entry into a motor vehicle early Sunday.
A DCSO report said just after 1:10 a.m. a victim said a man was taking items from his vehicle which was parked on his property in the 200 block of Main Street in Riddle. A deputy arrived at the location and contacted the 37-year-old who was walking away from the residence. The male identified himself.
During an investigation, the deputy discovered that the jacket the suspect was wearing when he was contacted belonged to the victim and had been inside the vehicle. The deputy also found a multi-tool and leather gloves that were the victims on the suspect’s person.
The transient, 37-year-old Levi Palmer was also charged with third-degree theft and second-degree criminal trespass. Palmer was detained without bail and was released later in the day.
