Roseburg had the hottest day of the year so far on Monday, marking the designation for the third day in a row.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the mercury reached 99 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport.

The previous hottest days of the year had been Sunday when the high was 98 degrees, and Saturday, when it got to 92 degrees. Monday’s high also tied the all-time record high for the date, which was set in 1961. ‘

Forecasters said high pressure remains in the area, but temperatures are expected to drop to between 85 and 90 degrees through Friday. A trough moving into the region on Saturday will cool temperatures for the weekend, with highs between the low and mid 80s forecast. The unseasonably warm weather will continue for the rest of the month, with highs between the mid 80’s and low 90s’ expected next week.
