TRANSIENT JAILED FOR WARRANT AND UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF METHAMPETAMINE

A transient was jailed for a warrant and unlawful possession of methamphetamine on Friday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 10:45 a.m. the 44-year-old man was stopped for an infraction while riding his bicycle near the intersection of Grange Road and Landers Avenue in the Green District. The man was reportedly extremely confrontational and not happy with police across the county. He returned with a Winston Police Department warrant for his arrest.

The man was detained and in his cargo pants pocket was a used methamphetamine pipe. He was held for the warrant and charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine. Bail was set at $10,000. The man was released on Sunday.
