JERRY BRUCE CAMPUS NON-PROFIT PARTNERS HOLD TRUNK-OR-TREAT SATURDAY

October 21, 2026 3:20 a.m.

Jerry Bruce Community Campus partner organizations Family Development Center, The FISH Food Pantry, Umpqua Homes, United Community Action Network, and Aviva Health are holding a Trunk-or-Treat for local families this Saturday, October 24th, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., in the Aviva Health parking lot on Northeast Kenneth Ford Drive.

A JBCC release said more than 30 staff members from the campus organizations are volunteering their time and trunks to hand out store-purchased, individually wrapped candy or toys to children and their families in attendance. Children and their parents or guardians are encouraged to wear family friendly costumes to add more Halloween spirit to the event.

Aviva Health Marketing and Development Director Mark Tsuchiya said, “Our annual Trunk-or-Treat is one the Jerry Bruce Community Campus’s favorite events.” Tsuchiya said, “It’s a great way to celebrate the season and gives families a safe and fun Halloween experience – and it’s free to the community.”

The Aviva Health parking lot on the west side of the facility where the trunk-or-treat takes place will be closed to vehicle traffic for the safety of families and volunteers attending the event. Those who attend can park in the lot on the east side of the Aviva Health building and in the Aviva Health employee parking area located in the northeast corner of the Costco parking lot.

Tsuchiya said the four non-profits on the Jerry Bruce Community Campus – Family Development Center, UHI, FISH Food Pantry, UCAN, and Aviva Health – serve many of the same people but bring very different supports to the community that are vitally important to many local residents. Tsuchiya said this event provides the opportunity to have some family fun and share more information about the programs and services that each of the campus partners offer.
