Winston Police Department and MED-Project is hosting an unwanted medicine take-back event as a safe, free and convenient way to dispose of unwanted or expired household medications, this Saturday, October 24th.

A WPD release said the event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Winston Police Department, located at 131 Rose Avenue in Winston. The takeback event is open to residents from around the area.

Accepted medications include those in any dosage form in their original container or sealed bag.

Herbal remedies, vitamins, supplements, cosmetics, other personal care products, emptied medical devices, batteries, mercury-containing thermometers, sharps, illicit drugs, pet pesticide products, animal medicines, and biologics are medications that are not accepted.
