High pressure in the region means a couple of more days of hot weather before cooling begins.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that highs will be at or near 90 degrees through Wednesday. Thursday is set to be a transitional day with a high of 81 degrees expected.
A front bringing low pressure will lead to high temperatures substantially cooling to around ten degrees below normal between Friday through Sunday. Forecasters said light rain is possible, but amounts should be very minimal according to current weather models.
The mercury reached 92 degrees on Monday at the Roseburg Regional Airport. That was nearly 15 degrees above the normal high for this week in June.
