Roseburg Police jailed a man Monday for a prior alleged theft incident.

An RPD report said just before 4:00 p.m. officers contacted the 23-year-olf as a passenger during a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Northeast Stephens Street, after recognizing the man from a recent theft., The suspect complied with the investigation and was placed into custody.

He was charged with second-degree theft and a parole violation. Bail was set at $6,250.
