A Glide man died in a head-on crash collision between a passenger car and a log truck on Little River Road just after 7:30 a.m. on Friday.

Information from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said a vehicle driven by 22-year-old John Metianu was traveling northwest between mileposts 12 and 13 on Little River Road when the driver attempted to pass another vehicle and crossed into the oncoming lane.

A southbound log truck, driven by a Roseburg man, crashed into the sedan near Woodview Drive. Metianu was pronounced deceased on the scene. The log truck driver was not injured.

The DCSO report said there were no indications that intoxicants were a factor in the wreck. DCSO was assisted at the scene by Glide Rural Fire Protection District and the Douglas County Medical Examiners Office.
