A transient was jailed for a reported trespass and theft incident on Monday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said earlier in the day, deputies had trespassed the 29-year-old from a store in the 200 block of Southwest Fifth Street in Canyonville. Just after 5:15 p.m. the man returned to the business and allegedly stole a soda foundation drink and a cup of noodles, and then reportedly refused to leave.

The suspect was contacted later and charged with first-degree criminal trespass and third-degree theft. He was detained without bail.
