Sutherlin Police jailed a man for warrants and a parole violation after contacting him on Friday.

An SPD report said just after 11:00 a.m. an officer observed the 43-year-old walking on West Central Avenue near Southwest Hutchins Street and knew he had an active municipal and state parole board warrants for his arrest. The warrants were confirmed. While taking him into custody, a spring-assisted knife was located concealed on his person. He was detained on $5,000 bail.
