A Roseburg woman was cited for second-degree child neglect by Roseburg Police on Wednesday.

An RPD report said at 1:30 p.m. officers responded to the downtown parking garage in the 500 block of Southeast Rose Street after a caller said a woman was passed out in her vehicle and unresponsive, while her young child was secured in the car seat. Officers learned the 32-year old had been parked and sleeping in the car for approximately three hours before the situation was reported.

A family member arrived on the scene and picked the child up. Staff with the Department of Human Services was contacted and got involved in the case. The woman was released after the citation was issued.
