WARMING CENTER DIDN’T OPEN TUESDAY NIGHT

March 1, 2023 4:00 a.m.

Following the stabbing incident that led to an officer involved fatal shooting at the Roseburg Warming Center early Tuesday morning, Onward Roseburg did not operate a warming center Tuesday night.

A City of Roseburg release made the announcement shortly after 5:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Local nonprofit organizations including the United Community Action Network and other community partners are rounding up supplies for unhoused people, according to UCAN Executive Director Shaun Pritchard.

The warming center has been housed at the Roseburg Senior Center on Southeast Stephens Street. Information about future openings of a warming center will be provided as that information becomes available, according to the release.

Overnight low temperatures in Roseburg are forecast to stay in the upper 20s to low 30s for the next several nights.
