A Texas woman was hospitalized following a two-vehicle accident on Tuesday morning.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said shortly after 9:30 a.m. the 56-year-old was driving erratically through Sutherlin heading south on Old Highway 99 North. Near Deady Crossing, her pickup left the roadway for approximately 100 yards.

The driver attempted to get the vehicle back on the roadway and impacted the passenger side of a septic truck, which was heading north. The woman was extracted from the pickup and sustained serious injuries. She was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center before being transferred to Peace Health Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield.

The woman was cited for reckless driving. Both vehicles had to be towed away.
