CITY COUNCIL WITH LIGHT AGENDA

February 27, 2028 3:40 a.m.

The Roseburg City Council has a light agenda for its Monday night meeting.

Mayor Larry Rich will ask councilors to sign on to a letter of support to the Oregon State Legislature regarding proposed legislation to address concerns for small and rural cities and counties regarding homelessness. Councilor Ellen Porter has been working with the League of Oregon Cities on the legislation, which has been accepted for consideration by both chambers of the legislature.

Councilors will vote on a resolution forgiving NeighborWorks Umpqua debt relating to the sale of the historic Willis House to another organization in 2022. The non-profit had bought the long vacant property from the city in 2017 but was unable to secure grants to fund dealing with significant deferred maintenance on the structure.

The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. It can be viewed on the city’s Facebook page, or seen later at: www.cityofroseburg.org.
