DISTRICT ANNOUNCES NEW ADMINISTRATIVE ROLES

In preparation for the upcoming school year, the Roseburg School District has announced several shifts in administrative positions as part of efforts to develop educational leaders while best serving students.

A release said leadership development is an important part of the district’s Strategic Plan to ensure all students receive the care, support and instruction needed to graduate from high school with plans for their most successful futures.

Superintendent Jared Cordon said, “These changes will provide several of our leaders with the opportunity to further develop their skills while sharing their talents and strengths in new roles supporting our students, staff, and families across our community”.

Administrators will remain in their current positions for the remainder of the school year, with their new roles taking effect July 1st. Leadership transitions across the district include:

*Jake Hughes, current assistant principal at Fremont Middle School, will take on the role of principal at Eastwood Elementary School

*Tammy Rasmussen, current principal at Melrose Elementary School, will become principal at Green Elementary School

*Jennifer Thompson, current principal at Eastwood Elementary School, will take on the role of principal at Hucrest Elementary School. Principal Don Schrader is retiring at the end of this school year

*Darin Lomica, current assistant principal at Joseph Lane Middle School, will become principal of Melrose Elementary School

*Randal Olsen, current assistant principal at Roseburg High School, will take on the role of assistant principal at Fremont Middle School

*Lisa Dickover, current principal at Green Elementary School, will become the coordinator of the Office of Student Services for the district

Job openings for assistant principal at Joseph Lane Middle School and assistant principal at Roseburg High School, will be posted in February for the 2023-24 school year.
