SUTHERLIN POLICE BURGLARY AND THEFT INVESTIGATION

Sutherlin Police are continuing an investigation into a burglary and theft, following the arrest of two people Wednesday morning.

Captain Kurt Sorenson said at about 5:40 a.m. SPD received a call regarding a suspicious vehicle and a suspicious subject in the area of the 1200 block of East Central Avenue. Sorenson said it was reported that the subject was wearing a backpack and a hoodie and was walking around checking doors.

Sorenson said SPD located a pickup in the area driven by 34-year old Alicia Pettit. 20-year old Eli Moore was a passenger. Several items of suspected stolen property were located in the pickup. After an investigation both were charged and taken to jail.

Moore was charged with two counts each of first-degree theft, first-degree theft by receiving and second-degree criminal trespass. He was detained without bail. Pettit was detained for one count each of the same charges. She was released later on Wednesday.
