Umpqua Actors Community Theatre’s new production, “Encounter at Heavenly Gulch”, opens on Friday.

Written and directed by board member Martin Follose, the play is set in the middle of an Arizona desert where a handful of bus passengers, each traveling solo, find themselves stranded. After walking for miles, they come across the small town of Heavenly Gulch, where they are offered a refuge until a rescue party can arrive. With nothing to do but wait, the travelers start a new journey of self-discovery as they learn about each other and themselves.

The comedy is playing Friday and Saturday nights at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 2:00 p.m. through October 9th. Thursday evening performances starts next week. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 10 and under. UACT is on West Harvard Avenue in Roseburg. To purchase tickets or get more information, go to www.uact-theatre.com
