Starting on Monday, May 6th and continuing until the task is completed, Douglas County Fire District No.2 and Winston-Dillard Fire District firefighters will be flushing and maintaining fire hydrants.

A release said this includes the communities of Dixonville, Green, Melrose, Winchester, Wilbur, Winston, Garden Valley, Umpqua and unincorporated areas around the City of Roseburg.

Testing will be conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Fridays. During this process, water discoloration is possible depending on how bad the sediment on the water mains is, but the water is still safe to drink.

Residents who experience issues with their water during this time should allow water to run through the faucet until it clears.
