APPLICATIONS NEEDED FOR DOG CONTROL ADVISORY BOARD

Applicants are needed to the Douglas County Dog Advisory Control Board.

It is a volunteer board working with the Animal Control Division of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

One applicant is currently sought. That person must be directly or indirectly involved with the livestock industry.

The board was created to assist and advise the Board of Commissioners, as well as the Sheriff’s Office. Meetings are held quarterly in March, June, September and December. It has the authority and duty to:

*Serve as an advisory board to the Sheriff regarding the appointment or removal of a supervisor

*Review and recommend enactment of policies and rules for the operation of the agency

*Review and make recommendations on the annual budget of the department as prepared by the supervisor for submission to the Board of Commissioners and the Budget Committee

*Hear all claims by owners of livestock under Oregon law
