ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MANM FOR WARRANT, FIREARM, RESISTING

Roseburg Police jailed a man for a warrant, being a felon in possession of a firearm and resisting arrest on Wednesday.

An RPD report said at 9:20 a.m. officers responded to the 1400 block of Southeast Stephens Street in an effort to locate and arrest 67-year-old Edward Whitely, who had warrants for his arrest. Whitely was contacted and allegedly resisted arrest but was eventually taken into custody. Following the arrest, the man requested that an officer retrieve his keys from inside. Officers reportedly located a loaded Glock 17 next to the keys.

Whitely was detained on $10,000 bail.
