SPUR Restaurant and Bar recently opened in Roseburg.

A release said it is owned by two sisters, Kyana Jones and Katrina Peterman, along with their husbands, Darin Jones and Doug Peterman. All four were raised in the area.

Kyana Jones said SPUR is their first restaurant venture. Jones said they are fortunate to have had the experience, guidance and mentorship of restaurant owners Misty and Mark Russell as they begin this journey. Jones credits Misty Russell’s eye for design to help them bring their vision for SPUR’s atmosphere to life.

The name SPUR has a family connection. Jone’s said their grandmother was raised in Spur, Texas, and the name reflects the warmth, hospitality, and sense of belonging they hope to share with their guests.

Jones said the goal for SPUR is to create something special in Roseburg that brings together elevated comfort cuisine, a warm and inviting atmosphere and a sense of belonging. The menu offers a variety of appetizers and shareable plates, along with steaks, burgers, seafood, pasta and desserts. The bar features handcrafted cocktails, a selection of whiskeys and spirits, and eight draft beer options.

SPUR currently employs approximately 45 team members, including both full-time and part-time employees. Jones said general manager Lisa Brannon, brings 20 years of restaurant and management experience while chef Nathan Radford has 29 years of culinary experience, local knowledge, and a passion for thoughtfully prepared food.

SPUR is located in the building formerly occupied by Gilberto’s Mexican Restaurant, at 1347 Northeast Stephens Street. Hours are 11:00 am. to 10:00 p.m. seven days a week. SPUR is first-come, first-served, with reservations not accepted. The building is approximately 3,700 square feet.

Jones said as a locally owned family business, they are grateful for the excitement, encouragement, and support they have received from the Roseburg community. Jones said more than anything, their hope is that SPUR becomes a place where people feel genuinely welcomed, where the employees are proud to work and where guests look forward to returning.
