The daytime closure of a section of Old Melrose Road in Roseburg is being extended through Monday, October 26th, and Tuesday, October 27th, to continue sanitary sewer work serving the Roseburg Urban Sanitary Authority wastewater treatment plant.

A city release said the road will be closed from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. The closure affects the section of Old Melrose Road immediately north of West Goedeck Avenue toward West Harvard Avenue.

The additional time will allow Allied Trenchless to continue removing an underground bypass and replacing sewer services associated with the project.

Detour signs will remain in place, and local residents will be allowed access to their properties. Motorists should use alternate routes, allow additional travel time and drive cautiously near crews and equipment.

Work schedules remain subject to change. City staff will provide additional updates as they become available.
