Temperatures in the Umpqua Valley are expected to jump up for one day only before returning to cooler, more seasonal like conditions.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that a southeast flow over the region and less cloud cover expected should lead to a high temperature in the upper 70s. Thursday temperatures will drop back to the upper 60’s with a slight chance of morning rain. Friday the high is slated to be only in the low 60’s with weekend highs getting back to the upper 60’s. There is a chance of light rain on Sunday with only minimal precipitation amounts expected.
The mercury reached 69 degrees on Tuesday at the Roseburg Regional Airport. That was lower than expected due to lingering cloud cover.
