A pedestrian was taken to the hospital after an SUV ran over her foot on Thursday evening.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 6:20 p.m. the motorist pulled up to the intersection of Page Road and Northeast Stephens Street in the Winchester area with the intent to turn right. The woman stopped at the stop sign and could see the pedestrian standing at the crosswalk but believed that woman was waiting for her to make the turn. Both the SUV and the pedestrian moved forward at the same time, which resulted in the accident.

The pedestrian suffered road rash on her foot and was taken to CHI Mercy Medical Center by emergency medical personnel.
