No one was hurt in a single-vehicle crash between Sutherlin and Umpqua on Thursday evening.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 6:00 p.m. a deputy responded to the accident in the 3300 block of Oak Hill Road. A witness said her neighbor swerved and drove his pickup off the road, hitting a tree and damaging a barbed wire fence. The deputy saw major damage to the bumper and hood of the vehicle, with the airbags deployed. The pickup had run over two metal fence posts.

The driver had minor cuts on his hands and a slight red mark on his chest from the seat belt. The man said he did not require medical attention. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
