Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged disorderly conduct incident early Thursday.

An RPD report said just after 12:00 a.m. officers responded to the intersection of Northwest Stewart Parkway and Northwest Veterans Way after a called said a male was standing in the roadway near the location and was refusing to allow a vehicle to leave that area. Officers arrived and contacted the 55-year-old who was reportedly acting erratic and screaming nonsensically.

The suspect reportedly refused to get out of the roadway even after being warned multiple times. He was found to have left a copious amount and trash and refuse on the shoulder of the roadway, which was within 100 yards of the South Umpqua River. The man was taken into custody and charged with second-degree disorderly conduct and depositing trash within 100 yards of water. He was detained on $5,000 bail.
