On Tuesday, the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation awarded eighty-seven charities a total of $606,815 for its spring round of giving.
The CCUIF awards presentation took place at Seven Feathers Convention Center in Canyonville. The non-profits receiving awards are located in Douglas, Coos, Deschutes, Jackson, Josephine, Klamath and Lane counties.
The foundation awarded $92,610 to thirteen non-profits in Douglas County.
*$10,000 was given to Glide Revitalization, the United Community Action Network and the YMCA of Douglas County.
*$7,500 went to St. Francis Community Kitchen, St. Vincent De Paul Society of Myrtle Creek, the Sutherlin Oakland Emergency Food Pantry, the FISH of Roseburg, and the Umpqua Valley Arts Association
*$7,110 to the Elkton Community Education Center
*$5,000 to Thundering Water and the Umpqua Community Center
*$4,000 to the Glide School District and Altrusa International Foundation of Roseburg
Since its philanthropic activity began in 1998, CCUIF has awarded over $27.8 million to nonprofit organizations. Grants are awarded semi-annually in June and January.
