ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR STRANGULATION AND ASSAULT CHARGES

Roseburg Police jailed a man on strangulation and assault charges on Monday evening.

An RPD report said at 8:45 p.m. officers responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 700 block of Northwest Woodwillow Drive. The investigation showed that 39-year-old Tyler Rethwill strangled the victim and threw her down on the ground. Both subjects sustained injuries during the disturbance. Both were treated at CHI Mercy Medical Center. Rethwill, who was identified as the aggressor, was charged with a felony count of strangulation and fourth-degree assault. He was detained without bail.
