Roseburg Police cited a man for a theft incident on Thursday.

An RPD report said at 5:00 p.m. officers responded to a store in the 1300 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard. after an employee said there had been a theft.

Officers learned that a 48-year-old man had taken the tag off a backpack while shopping inside the business. When he went to check out, staff confronted the man who stated that he had already paid for the backpack. Camera footage showed that he had not. The man was cited for third degree theft and was released from the scene.
