CUCKOO CLOCK OPENS THURSDAY NIGHT AT UACT

In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:

The Cuckoo Clock opens Thursday night at Umpqua Actors Community Theater.

A synopsis said they play is an exploration of family bonds, loss and the complexities of growing up amidst adversity. It centers on Ethel, a weary grandmother in her sixties, raising her troubled fifteen-year-old grandson, Mark. The story is filled with themes of love regret, and the scars left by a troubled past.

Opening night premiere’s The Cuckoo Clock. It will be the first time the play has ever been performed in public. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m. as the cast and the writer/director walk the red carpet, answer questions and chat with the audience before the performance at 7:00 p.m.

Shows will be Thursday through Saturday nights at 7:00 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m. through June 21st. The production contains themes of substance abuse and trauma. Tickets are $17 and are available at www.uact-theatre.com or by calling 673-2125.
