Roseburg Police cited a hospital patient following an alleged assault on Tuesday.
An RPD report said at 5:45 p.m. officers responded to CHI Mercy Medical Center on Northwest Stewart Parkway regarding an alleged assault that had taken place. Officers contacted a nurse who reportedly had hot coffee thrown on their neck and chest while performing their care duties. The coffee caused second degree burns and blistering on the chest and neck of the victim.
Officers cited and released a 70-year-old North Bend woman on charges of assault in the second-degree and unlawful use of a weapon. The woman was still a patient in the hospital at the time of the citation.
