Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged store robbery on Tuesday.

An RPD report said at 3:00 p.m. The 34-year-old allegedly walked out of WinCo Foods in the 2700 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway with over $17 worth of merchandise.  The suspect was reportedly contacted by a loss prevention staff member who displayed their badge and announced themselves as such.

The man admitted that he tried to run through loss prevention when they tried to stop him. Loss prevention struggled with the man for approximately five minutes before they detained him. Video footage showed that during the struggle, the suspect tried to push the employes away and kicked at them.

He was charged with third degree counts of robbery and theft. The man was detained without bail.
