A Roseburg man was jailed for an alleged assault incident on Friday.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 9:30 a.m. a victim sought medical attention due to being allegedly knocked out by 53-year-old Phillip Acevado during an incident in the 200 block of Greenhill Drive. The victim claimed that Acevado punched him in the jaw and knocked him out. The suspect then reportedly took the victim’s phone when he attempted to call 911.
A deputy contacted the suspect who said nothing had happened the night before and he had no clue why the victim was making these statements.
Acevado was charged with fourth-degree assault, menacing, and interfering with making a police report. He was detained without bail.
