A Riddle man was jailed after a pursuit in south county on Tuesday night.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 9:20 p.m. a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle on Canyonville Riddle Road for violations. A pursuit ensued out Shoestring Road towards Glenbrook Loop Road. The vehicle appeared to start having mechanical issues around the 800 block of Shoestring Road and eventually quit working while on the roadway.
The driver, 44-year-old Harold Addis was taken into custody. A passenger was detained but ultimately was released. During an inventory of the vehicle, a loaded pistol was located under the driver seat of the vehicle. Addis was charged with attempting to elude a police officer in a vehicle, unlawful possession of a firearm, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person, driving while suspended-misdemeanor, and for a warrant. Bail was set at $5,000.
