DEPUTIES JAIL MAN FOR ALLEGED PRIOR MENACING INCIDENT

Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a Roseburg man Wednesday for crimes associated with an alleged prior menacing incident.

A DCSO report said at on March 10th at approximately 11:15 a.m. two victims went to a residence in the 5000 block of Little River Road in the Glide area which one of the victims shared with the 43-year-old. The man stated that he was going to shoot the second victim and then came out of the house with a rifle. The victim said she wrestled the rifle away from him but got knocked to the ground several times. The woman advised that she checked the weapon, and it was not loaded. The woman said the man then balled up his fist and told her that he was going to knock her out.

The second victim said he heard the suspect state that he was going to shoot him and came out to see him with a rifle. Both victims said they jumped in their car and started to drive off as the suspect allegedly shattered the windshield with a four by four. They ended up leaving the rifle behind but believed the man had other firearms as well.

The suspect, identified as Tyrell Twete, was charged with a felony count of 4th degree assault, two counts of menacing, unlawful use of a weapon, and second-degree criminal mischief. He was detained on $10,000 ba
