Roseburg Police jailed a man for operating a boat while under the influence of intoxicants on Thursday morning.
An RPD report said just after 9:00 a.m. an officer contacted the 24-year-old after watching him row a boat in the South Umpqua River near the 200 block of Southeast Pine Street. During the contact the man allegedly showed signs of drug impairment. He consented to standard field sobriety tests and reportedly performed poorly.
The officer learned the man was on parole out of Coos County and one of his stipulations was having no intoxicating substances, so was also held for a parole violation. He was detained without bail. The man was also cited for three boating violations.
