The Rogue River-Siskiyou and Umpqua National Forests are seeking members to serve on the Rogue-Umpqua Resource Advisory Committee.

A release from the Umpqua National Forest said Rogue-Umpqua Resource Advisory Committee members review and recommend land management projects to be funded with money from the Secure Rural Schools Act to local priorities on or near federal lands.
The Rogue-Umpqua Resource Advisory Committee evaluates proposed projects located in Lane, Klamath, Douglas, and Jackson Counties on the Umpqua and Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forests. Members may also vote on recreation fee proposals affecting National Forest System lands in their county.
The release said terms are four years and voluntary, though travel reimbursement may be available. Members can expect to meet two or three times per year at the Umpqua National Forest Headquarters in Roseburg.
Committee members request, review and recommend projects to:
- Improve maintenance of existing infrastructure
- Implement stewardship objectives to enhance forest ecosystems
- Restore and improve land health and water quality
- Create additional employment opportunities
To be considered for a resource advisory committee, applicants must live in the state of Oregon and be affiliated with one of the required categories. All applications and nominations will be reviewed after enough individuals have applied to fill all 15 seats on each committee.
