September 3, 2026 3:20 a.m.

The Poole Creek Campground, including Poole Creek Boat Ramp, will close to the public at 11:00 a.m. on September 7, to allow for construction work to begin. The campground will remain closed until the summer 2027 season.

A release from the Umpqua National Forest said this project is being completed in collaboration with PacifiCorp and will improve campground infrastructure and visitor access. Planned improvements include parking improvements at lakeside campsites, new asphalt and subgrade improvements to campground loop road, and parking lot refurbishment near the Poole Creek Boat Ramp.

Other recreation opportunities in the area such as Inlet Campground, East Lemolo Campground, Bunker Hill Campground, and Lemolo Lake KOA remain open.
