A Mount Angel man was jailed for reported burglary charges early Tuesday morning.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 6:30 a.m. dispatch revied an activation alarm from Abacela Vineyards in the 12,000 block of Lookingglass Road near Winston. A manager said he had employees on scene who had located someone inside the tasting room. A Winston Police Department officer was first on scene and detained 46-year-old Kaleb Lane.

When a deputy arrived on scene, he learned that Lane said been seen inside the building, rummaging through things. Ultimately it was determined that the suspect had allegedly taken some keys and some change, cut a power line in the breaker box and went through several rooms and a shop. Lane was charged with first-degree criminal mischief, and second-degree counts of burglary and criminal trespass. He was detained on $50,000 bail.
