The Umpqua National Forest has implemented a Closure Order due to the Castle Fire.

A UNF update said all National Forest System lands, roads, and trails are closed beginning at National Forest Road 28 from the junction of NFSR 2823 to French Junction, and NFSR 2823, or the area known as Little Black Rock and Castle Creek.

The closure order has also closed South Umpqua Falls and Day Use Area, along NFSR. The closure is necessary to protect the public and provide a safe environment for firefighters. The closure will remain in effect until conditions allow for safe reopening.
