The Young Eagles program will offer free airplane rides for kids this Saturday.

Hosted by local EAA Chapter 495, the event is for those ages 8 to 18. It will take place at the Roseburg Regional Airport on Northwest Stewart Parkway from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 pm. Young Eagles Coordinator Ken Nicholls said as a chapter they have flown more than 500 kids in recent years. Nationally the organization is nearing 2.5 million kids who have flown since the inception of the program. Nicholls said pilots enjoy providing young people with what is often their first aviation experience.
