Wednesday afternoon crews from the Roseburg Fire Department and Cow Creek Tribal Fire Management responded to a reported natural cover fire on Reservoir Hill, just north of downtown.

Information from RFD said the fire was called in just after 4:50 p.m. Firefighters found a slow moving, dry vegetation fire alongside the lower portion of the hill. RFD said the fire was unrelated to the controlled burn at the top of the hill which had taken place Wednesday morning.

The 1.5-acre fire was 100 percent lined, and 50 percent mopped up by 6:30 p.m. The fire posed no threat to structures or homes. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
